about

I went into journalism wanting to help change the way reporting was done with Indigenous communities. But journalism and the industry wound up changing me.

I am Mohawk from Tyendinaga on my father’s side and second generation Canadian on my mother’s. My upbringing has driven me in making decisions both in and outside the newsroom.

I have written and produced stories for CBC, Canadian Architect, HuffPost Canada, AFN Health Matters, TVO, Canada Goose, Reader’s Digest, Broadview Magazine, Refinery29, The Conversation Canada, Chatelaine and Global News.

I have a Master of Journalism from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in English and French from Bishop’s University.

When I’m not working you can find me riding my bike, making ceramics, playing the bass, hanging out with my corgi named Huey and laughing at my own jokes.
